MCR91508R, MCR91508POS & MCR91508SS

Eight Channel Multicode Series Receiver. MCR91508R

The eight channel receiver is available in three versions:

  • MCR91508R – with relay outputs
  • MCR91508POS – with positive switching outputs
  • MCR91508SS – with open collector outputs

Each version is designed to meet specific needs in various industrial and commercial applications. The MCR91508SS combined with our relay cards, can be used to switch bigger loads.

These receivers utilize advanced dual digital coding technology known as Multicode Technology (MCT). MCT offers two coding options: encrypted coding for high security needs or a 12-way dipswitch for standard applications. This flexibility ensures that the receivers are suitable for both general and secure environments.

The combination of Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and MCT technology makes these receivers both sophisticated and easy to use. FHSS technology, commonly found in high end military and medical equipment, provides exceptional resistance to interference and enhances the overall reliability of the receivers.

Elsema: Frequently Asked Questions

The MCR91508R is an 8-channel industrial grade receiver designed for high-reliability wireless switching. It is commonly used in demanding environments such as industrial automation, crane control, winches, and wireless cement truck operations where interference-free communication is critical.

The receiver utilises Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology, which automatically switches between different frequencies within the 915MHz to 928MHz band. This ensures that the system remains immune to interference and jamming, allowing multiple receivers to operate in the same area.

The MCR91508R features a versatile power input range, operating on 12 to 24 Volts AC or DC. This wide range ensures compatibility with standard industrial power sources and backup battery systems.

Yes, the receiver supports user-selectable Momentary and Latching modes. These can be configured via an on-board 4-way DIP switch, allowing you to customize the behaviour of the relay outputs.

The receiver offers dual digital coding options:

  • 12-Way Dipswitch: For simple, manual code matching between the transmitter and receiver.
  • Encrypted Coding: A high-security encrypted code (with over 16 million combinations) programmed wirelessly for protection against unauthorized access.

The MCR91508R has an unlimited storage capacity for transmitters. This makes it an ideal solution for large-scale sites where many different users or handheld remotes need to trigger the same receiver.

Under optimal line-of-sight conditions, the receiver can achieve a range of up to 400 metres. The actual range may vary depending on environmental factors, obstacles, and the type of antenna used.

The MCR91508R is fully compatible with all Elsema MCT915xx series transmitters. This includes handheld remotes with 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 buttons.

Yes, the board is equipped with an on-board red LED that turns on when it receives a valid signal from a paired transmitter. This is a helpful diagnostic tool during installation and troubleshooting.

Yes, the MCR91508 series is available in three output configurations to suit different electrical requirements:

  • MCR91508R (Relay Output): Features standard voltage-free relay contacts, ideal for general-purpose switching of both AC and DC loads.
  • MCR91508POS (Positive Switching Output): Provides a positive voltage output when the channel is activated.
  • MCR91508SS (Open Collector Output): Utilizes transistor switching to sink the load to the negative rail, commonly used for interfacing with PLCs, relays or low-power electronic circuits.
